Tianji Faye Yakiniku – A Japanese BBQ Festival with DJ Flair
Tianji Faye redefines the traditional yakiniku experience by combining in-store DJ performances with interactive grilling instruction, creating a space inspired by a Japanese autumn festival.
The design theme centers around the idea of a joyful celebration in fall. The palette draws from the core elements of barbecue—charcoal black, flame red, and traditional Japanese tones like gray oak and teak. Symbolic touches such as red torii gates, paper lanterns, maple leaves, and a slate-patterned path evoke the atmosphere of a shrine festival.
The glass at the arcade entrance uses a gradient effect to clearly separate indoor and outdoor areas, enhancing the dramatic impact of the interior upon entry. The DJ booth is framed with industrial metal trusses, accented in red to echo the dancing red cranes on the opposing wall—strengthening the visual connection between sound and space.
This project transforms dining into a multisensory celebration, blending sound, taste, and ambiance for a truly festive yakiniku experience in the heart of Taichung.
