Lighting Up the Night with Design – Yakitori & Bar
A Vibrant Izakaya Experience in Taichung’s Green Park Lane District
At Woosha Design, we believe that unique spatial identity is key to attracting customers and shaping a memorable brand experience.
In today’s restaurant industry, providing a comfortable environment is just the baseline — what's truly essential is creating visually striking spaces that deliver unforgettable dining moments.
That’s why originality and bold design are the heart of this project.
Reimagining the Izakaya – Bold, Bright, and Unapologetically Modern
Located in the heart of Taichung’s Green Park Lane commercial district, June Firefly stands apart from traditional izakayas.
Instead of the expected dim, wooden interiors, the design embraces neon fantasy and vibrant contrast, inspired by the restaurant’s name — evoking the colorful, dreamlike glow of summer fireflies.
The design moves away from traditional Japanese aesthetics and instead adopts a playful, modern visual language, immersing diners in a space filled with rhythm, light, and energy.
From Facade to Fantasy – An Immersive Exterior & Interior Journey
The exterior entrance features frosted glass panels that reflect multicolored light halos, adding mystery and intrigue before guests even step inside.
This subtle yet striking entrance draws the eye and sets the tone for what’s to come.
Ground Floor – Neon Highlights & Expressive Materials
The bar area on the first floor showcases a custom backlit ceiling panel made of DuPont floral-patterned light film, glowing in full-spectrum color.
This is paired with violet neon behind the bar and a bold contrast of black wood grain and orange stone-textured paint at the base — resulting in a space that’s lively, welcoming, and visually impactful.
Second Floor – Contrasting Aesthetics & Elevated Light
Upstairs, we preserved the original sloped wooden ceiling and layered it with modern lighting fixtures, creating a fusion of old and new — a subtle collision of tradition and contemporary flair.
Black lanterns add another layer of contrast, enriching the space with a unique aesthetic tension.
From across the street, passersby can glimpse the glowing acrylic ceiling framed within the second-floor window, radiating shifting hues of light — a continuation of the lighting concept and a nod to the restaurant’s firefly namesake.
Where Design Meets Atmosphere – Tradition Reimagined
The overall design blends traditional Japanese textures with modern lighting techniques, crafting a restaurant experience that feels immersive, imaginative, and unique.
Every detail — from exterior materials to lighting temperature — was carefully crafted by the Woosha Design team to deliver not just a place to dine, but a space to remember.
June Firefly Yakitori & Bar aims to become a must-visit spot in Taichung’s dining scene, drawing customers in with its one-of-a-kind atmosphere and vivid, energetic style.
